Though the word Mediterranean is derived from the Latin word mediterraneus, meaning "inland" or "in the middle of the earth" (from medius, "middle," and terra, "earth"), with top-quality food, service and atmosphere, there's nothing "middle" about the restaurant offering today's deal: $15 for $30 worth of dining at Mediterranean Breeze.
Sure to please anyone's palette, Mediterranean Breeze offers authentic, yet casual Greek and Italian cuisine. Get swept away with its diverse menu featuring traditional gyros, souvlakis and pizzas, along with finer dining offerings such as savory veal and lamb dishes.
Start off with tasty appetizers like Dolmades ($7.95), grape leaves stuffed with minced veal and rice, topped with an egg-lemon sauce; Bruschetta ($6.95), grilled bread with melted mozarella, fresh chopped tomatoes, roasted red peppers, garlic, basil and olive oil; or enjoy the delicious variety of taste treasures in the Mediterranean Appetizer ($7.95), featuring a sampling of dolmades, feta cheese, pita bread, kalamata olives, pepperoncini, tomatoes, cucumbers and tzatziki sauce.
For Greek entrees, choose from a variety of platters like the Gyro Platter ($12.50), sliced seasoned lamb and beef on pita bread with homemade tzatziki sauce, served with a small Greek salad and fries. Or, go for house specialties like the Mousaka ($13.95), layers of potatoes, sliced eggplant and seasoned ground beef topped with bechamel sauce, served with rice and homestyle green beans; or the Chicken Kabob ($16.95), marinated chicken breast charbroiled with green peppers, onion and tomatoes, also served with rice and homestyle green beans.
For meat and seafood dishes with Italian flair (all veal dishes are served with a side of pasta marinara and include a trip to the salad bar plus garlic bread), look for the Veal Florentine ($18.95), veal scaloppini sautéed with mushrooms in sherry wine topped with spinach, mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. For a more coastal spin, dip into the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes ($19.95), jumbo lump crabmeat complemented with a wonderful medley of fresh mixed vegetables and oven-roasted potatoes; or the Shrimp Scampi ($17.95), jumbo shrimp sautéed in white wine, garlic and butter sauce, served over linguini.

I haven't eaten here in a while, but the food is great. Lots of choices and have never been disappointed. They are quick, the service is good, and I really enjoyed. I've also done takeout and it went smoothly. Never realized this before until I was checking out their website, but the owner is the chef from Sylvanas in Herndon!! I grew up on their food. Great family place and besides I've been with friends and had a few drinks too. Baklava is good. I recommend the Flounder Florentine! -- Francine P.

The Mediterranean Breeze is one of my favorite restaurants in our area. It's been a long time since I've found a real authentic greek restaurant and I LOVE IT! The atmosphere is very mediterranean, the owners and staff are very nice, the restaurant is clean and the food is very reasonable. I would and have recommended this restaurant to many of my friends. -- Lisa C.
Mediterranean Breeze in Ashburn has the feeling of the mediterranean. It has great outdoor seating in the summertime and the walls are painted a very Greek blue. The dishes are authentic and fabulous. I love the gyro platters. And the prices are great--the gyro platter is about $7.50 and you get a lot of food. The staff is jovial and attentive, I think we even had the owner come around to our table to chat. They make you feel very welcome at Mediterranean Breeze. -- Rachel C.
