A lot of things can be described as chic, sexy and contemporary: Think any Apple product; a suave, pre- Pirates of the Caribbean Johnny Depp, or a dimly lit New York City nightclub. Today's deal adds to the list urban sleekness with a delightfully flavorful twist: $20 for $40 worth of dining at Panache Restaurant.
The restaurant, located in the heart of Tysons Corner, is a restaurant, lounge and bar with a Mediterranean flair. The lounge touts upscale, chic cuisine with a buzzing environment that makes it a perfect spot for a business lunch, a dinner date or a night out with friends.
On the menu at Panache you'll find a wide variety of exquisite, high-quality Mediterranean fusion dishes, gleaning inspiration from France, Italy and Spain. Each exciting option accentuates the fresh taste of high-quality ingredients. Begin your gastronomic jaunt with dishes like the Salmon and Spinach Salad ($13.50), grilled filet of salmon on a bed of baby spinach and field mushrooms, served with a warm mustard vinaigrette dressing; or the Panache Salad ($9), salad tossed with endive, green apples, dates and cucumbers, finished with a lemon vinaigrette.
To continue your extraordinary culinary excursion, indulge in rich pastas like the Lobster Ravioli ($11/$21), housemade pasta stuffed with fresh lobster and served in fresh tarragon and tomato sauce; the Ravioli of Wild Mushrooms ($9/$16), housemade ravioli stuffed with wild mushrooms and served in a Fresh sage-brown butter sauce; or dip into the Fettuccine Frutti di Mare ($11/$20), jumbo sea scallops, gulf shrimp, chopped clams and fresh mussels sautéed with garlic, basil and white wine, finished with Panache's homemade marinara sauce.
Next, scour the menu for delectable entrees including the Filet Mignon ($26), served with roasted garlic potato puree and fresh vegetables, garnished with a Port wine reduction; and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes ($27), fresh jumbo lump crab meat served with mashed potatoes, summer vegetables and avocado lime butter. We also highly recommend the Pan-Seared Norwegian Salmon ($21), pan-seared Norwegian salmon served with artichokes, roasted red peppers and potato dumplings in a creamy pesto sauce; as well as the savory Chicken Breast Parmigiana ($19), a breaded and pan-fried chicken breast topped with eggplant and provolone cheese then baked and served with potatoes.

Not sure which is tougher: battling Tysons' traffic just to get to the overly congested highways each evening or swimming through the sea of humanity that overtakes Panache's lounge come 6 o'clock.
I can, however, tell you which is more rewarding.
This contemporary meze palace (think: white leather, bright lights) takes its cues from its downtown D.C. parent, keeping the booze and nightlife center stage and regarding the budding lunch traffic as gravy. That means shoulder-to-shoulder crowds at the two bars—most nights, the bar looks like a "Sex and the City" shoot, with martini-toting ladies itching to let their hair down after another 9-to-5—but easily accessible seats in the minimalist-minded main dining room.
The menu focuses on Mediterranean flavors. And most entrees are gladly downsized for easy snacking (bravo).
Lush spinach and sweet ricotta embrace beneath fluffy crepes (decadent alfredo sauce surrounds). Parmesan- and jumbo porcini-packed risotto (potent mushrooms and salty cheese bond perfectly) is further double teamed by crisp pancetta and shred-with-your-fork short ribs.
Elsewhere, spice-rubbed salmon and hand-carved artichoke hearts draw strength from a sassy pesto-cream sauce (dials back excess salt, enhances complementary spices). — Warren Rojas
